Vanessa Fenton – Bouncing back and new works presented in Siobhan Davies and Clore Studios

After a few years below the radar Vanessa Fenton has been quietly bouncing back choreographically and this month presented her own double bill at Siobhan Davies Dance Studies and once again contributed a piece to the Royal Ballet’s latest Draft Works bill.

The overall standard of dancing of both NEBT and guests was very good – if the choreography was rather more mixed.

Royal Ballet – Draft Works 2015 – London

This year‘s highlight was an exuberant piece from Marcelino Sambé which provided a lively closer to an otherwise rather downbeat programme.

At the outset I have to say I thought this year was one of the better years and we should all feel encouraged at the creativity on show.
