
Images Ballet Company – Distant Beauties, Concerto for Joyce and Dennis, Handsfree, Scenes of Death and Disaster – London
★★★★✰ This year’s Images Ballet Company is 8 strong, small in the graduate school scheme of things, and yet their show was one of the most exciting I’ve seen in years with a wonderful and eclectic choice of repertoire, danced with passion and verve.

English National Ballet – Choreographics 2015 – London
Of the three Choreographics evenings to date I thought this was the best, with all the pieces feeling buffed-up, thought about and nobody making a huge wrong turn.

London Contemporary Dance School – MA and Alumni Projects Upturn bill – London
…there’s a strong whiff of ‘experimental student’ here, but there’s also a good bit of talent on display.

Ballet Ireland – Carmen – London
Ballet Ireland have danced several times in London but never at Sadler’s Wells and never with the Irish ambassador as a warm-up, I fancy.

Wayne McGregor | Random Dance – Random Works, from 10 Choreographers – London
The most successful pieces of the evening are – perhaps not coincidentally – those least directly indebted to McGregor’s movement volcabulary and compositional style.

Print Room and AP Productions – Jealousy – London
Come the end of 2012, this is likely to be one of my highlights of the year. It’s not often I see a show and then book to see the same cast immediately again or pester others to go. The reason is that Jealousy works on so many different levels…
