★★★✰✰ A solid program overall, there were moments that satiated my craving for lightness and moments that challenged it.
There’s something almost too private about the way these dancers handle each other. Weare’s natural habitat is the duet, which in many cases has the flavor of a mortal combat.
While the program slumped, mood wise, in the middle, it went out with a bang thanks to Larry Keigwin's Exit Like an Animal.
Kate Weare, originally from the Bay Area and now based in New York, is easily the most intriguing choreographer in the festival. It certainly helps that she also has outstanding dancers...
