★★★★★   …this revival of The Red Shoes, coming with a number of tweaks, appears even tighter and slicker than the original.

New Adventures – Matthew Bourne’s The Red Shoes – London

★★★✰✰   If you remember the 1948 film, the plot is easy to follow. If you don’t, and can’t pick up the references to ballets, a printed scenario would be helpful, as would job-descriptions of the characters…

Place Prize 2012/13 – works by Rick Nodine, Riccardo Buscarini, Eva Recacha, h2dance – London

It’s amazing just how disparate the dance is that can make it to the Place Prize finals where 200 hopefuls were whittled down to 16 and now to 4 in the nightly finals shows which run through to the 27th April when the winner is chosen.
