★★★★✰ Lamb's mad scene is all the more effective by starting as though she’s a broken porcelain doll, uncomprehending. She retreats into her herself in disbelief at Albrecht’s treachery.
★★★✰✰ Wheeldon’s talents are on display, as well as the Royal Ballet’s dancers. A pity, then, that Strapless has been exposed without previews to sort out its weaknesses.
The overall standard of dancing of both NEBT and guests was very good - if the choreography was rather more mixed.

A key to the book's success is that it's based on talking about one company - the Royal Ballet - and that makes all the information so much more real and immediate.
I like McNally's sense of fun but I also like this more serious side because the movement is also fresh and unpredictable. Of all the ballet choreographers coming through I think hers is one of the most original voices.
