★★★★✰   As tentative steps continue to get the dance world back on its feet, the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield has asked three companies to embrace the possibilities of lockdown with a trio of filmed works.

★★★✰✰   Despite these reservations, I am certain that Victoria will repay multiple viewings, since there is much excellent work to consider…

Northern Ballet – Victoria (Marston premiere) – Leeds

★★★✰✰   Where the ballet takes off is when there are only two or three major characters on stage and then Marston clearly shows intentions and emotions and the dancing becomes rich and telling, clever and gorgeous.

ENB2 – My First Cinderella – London

As I say ultimately the kids on the afternoon I was there had a good old time. But I’d like to think that something where the steps assume greater significance will show little people even more of the joy of dance.
