Released: 25 April, 2016
For only the second time in half a century, dancers from The Royal Ballet Company return to Suffolk for two unique gala performances at the Ipswich Regent.
Led by Gary Avis and a Royal Ballet all-star cast, the company will perform an especially created programme of Royal Ballet classics, hosted by BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton du Beke.
Gary promises ‘something for everyone’ including iconic pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker to spectacular modern classics by Wayne McGregor, Liam Scarlett, William Tuckett and Christopher Wheeldon. There will also be a celebration of works by two choreographers who have very close links to Suffolk – Sir Frederick Ashton and Ronald Hynd.
You may also be taken on a trip to the Ballroom, so don’t miss what must surely be one of the national dance events of the year!
This Royal Ballet all-star cast includes:
Luca Acri, Gary Avis, Matthew Ball, Lukas Bjørneboe Brændsrød, Beatriz Stix-Brunell, Alexander Campbell, Reece Clarke, Helen Crawford, Mara Galeazzi, Meaghan Grace Hinkis, Ryoichi Hirano, Fumi Kaneko, Emma Maguire, Yasmine Naghdi, Kate Shipway and Zenaida Yanowsky.
Tickets go on public sale from 9.30am on Wednesday, May 4th from:
